It’s been a while, crocodile.
Hello dear readers, it’s been a wee while since I’ve written here. I’ve missed it!
I’ve done many digital collages since we last met. In February, I completed my first client commission - it was an exciting process and, thankfully, my client was delighted with the pieces (the cat one was in memory of their beloved feline who passed).
What I love about the mesh medium for printing on, is how large scale I can go. These are 1800mm across and I think, once hung, create a real ambience. The feedback I got from my client was that she loves the ethereal quality of the mesh and the fact they sit just out from the wall (hung around clear acrylic beams), gives the feeling that they’re floating.
I’ve been applying for some jobs lately and thought I’d make lemonade from the lemons (being unsuccessful, so far). I had to do a content brief for a media publication role I was going for. I made some digital collages from the photos I took:
I’ve been in the process of organizing my prints for sale on my site as framed pictures and large mesh wall hangings. Photographing and styling has proved quite challenging (the semi-transparent quality of the mesh gets lost in the pics) and so I’ve been playing around with video and various photography methods. My merchandiser spirit has had the run around! I look forward to sharing the newly designed website with you next week.
